Woman disembarking from Plane

Shaddai Berron

Shaddai Berron

Editor

‘Shady’ is one of those rare breeds who knew what she wanted to be when she was 10 years old doing stop motion animation with her Happy Meal Toys. She pursued her storytelling career when she moved to Dallas in 2003; graduating with a film degree from The Art Institute. Since then, she has earned the title of being a “Renaissance Woman,” editing commercials and web content for various local and national brands. Shaddai’s bag of tricks include a 35mm camera, poetry, watercolors, tarot cards (because you never know when you need advice), and the ability to discuss her mastery of these in fluent English and Spanish.

William Franklin

William Franklin

Editor

A native of Michigan, William traveled the world (or the parts between California and Virginia) before setting his sites on the University of North Texas for his degree in Film. Since joining our team in 2005 as a vault assistant, he has parlayed his amazing attention to detail, love of music and comprehension of rhythmic timing to become one of our most versatile creative editors. When not editing, William has the awesome responsibility of curating our company Spotify list – a duty which he does not take lightly.

Chris Gipson

Chris Gipson

Partner/Senior Editor

Chris (or “Gibby” as he’s known) joined the staff of Red Car Hollywood back in 1994 after graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a Major in Film Studies. By 1999 he was cutting music videos for such artists as Bryan Adams and Bone Thugs ‘N Harmony. In 2004, he moved to Red Car’s Dallas office (a move he told his wife would be just for a year). A founding partner of Republic and the current Vice President of AICP Southwest, he has twin daughters and a wife who still wonders when “the year” will end.

Keith James

Keith James

Partner/Senior Editor

Like all typical native Texans, Keith spent his formative years overseas in Tokyo where he produced a weekly show for a local Japanese cable station. After returning home and graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, he landed a job at Dallas’s Charlie Uniform Tango where he quickly rose to a role of editor. He joined Red Car in 2004 and nine years later helped establish Republic Editorial. Today, as a proud partner in Republic, Keith is frequently grateful he doesn’t have to do his current job in Japanese.

Andy McGee

Andy McGee

Senior Editor

Publicis Dallas hired Andy directly out of college where he was thrown into their internal post-production division. He joined Red Car Dallas in 2007 and rapidly rose to senior assistant before his focus, work ethic, and wardrobe of slightly amusing t-shirts launched him into the editor’s chair. One of the most likeable guys in our crew, Andy’s worked on an exciting and impressive list of national brands so you should be excited and impressed.

Susan Munro

Susan Munro

Senior Editor

Susan’s got over twenty (20) years of experience in our industry; so much experience that we wanted to clarify it with the preceding parenthetical. When not at Republic Editorial, she’s busy running a studio named Hybrid Collective out of LA and Austin. A winner of AICP, AICE, Super Bowl Ad Meter awards, it’s Susan’s rich knowledge, multiple points of view, and seasoned leadership that make her a tremendous asset to any project (no parenthesis needed here).

Dean Pelton

Dean Pelton

Editor

Somewhere between shooting his childhood Indiana Jones themed home-movies, getting his Undergraduate theater degree at UCLA, and knocking out his Masters in Film from USC, Dean learned a little bit about storytelling. He began his career at Company 3 in Santa Monica before moving to Texas and joining Charlie Uniform Tango in 2013. There he rapidly rose to the position of Editor, cutting a national Super Bowl spot for Alfa Romeo only a few years later. Dean joined our roster in 2023, and brings an eye for detail, timing and adventure to every project he touches.

Parker Smitherman

Parker Smitherman

Editor

Inheriting a legacy of storytelling from his sportscaster grandfather and TV meteorologist father, Parker chose a career behind the camera rather than in front of it. After graduating from Kansas’s prestigious Wichita Collegiate School, he attended SMU Film School where he fell in love with editing and the fine art of illegally downloading music. Although he hasn’t changed his LinkedIn picture since high-school, Parker constantly pursues new technology to assist him in telling his stories. When not editing, he’s either backpacking, taking his son to Medieval Times, or standing in line for 12 hours to get all four of the hobbits to autograph his Lord of the Rings prop sword.
