DI Colorist

Bayley (as he’s affectionately known around here) has tackled work ranging from hype videos for his West-Texas high-school football team to Katy Perry’s much acclaimed ‘Firework’ video. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he first developed a finishing skillset working at heavy VFX shops like ReelFx and Radium. In 2012, he helped launch Treehouse editorial, where he began to parlay his years of compositing experience into a deeper understanding of the ins and outs of color correction. He brought that toolset over to Republic in 2021, which combined with his love of chickens, dogs, cats, birds and gardening we feel somehow made him a rather amazing colorist. We can’t really explain it – you’ll just have to see what we’re talking about on his reel.

DI Colorist

An artist with one of the most talented eyes in our office, Nick actually began his career as producer of a morning radio program in St. Louis. After growing up in France and graduating from TCU, he made his first pass through our Dallas office as an intern way back in 2001 (while we were under the name and ownership of Red Car). In the years that followed, our little intern went around town honing his craft at shops like Video Post & Transfer and Fast Cuts until 2015 when we were finally able to lure him back in a leadership roll in our finishing department. Upon returning, Nick furthered his knowledge of lighting and digital color grading not only to enhance his VFX and composite work but also to develop into a full fledge DI colorist. What a waste those eyes would have gone to in radio.
