We are a collective of three distinct fully developed creative studios – Republic Productions, Republic Editorial, and Republic Design – built to seamlessly integrate with one another. By having various perspectives from which to navigate a project, our teams are able to move swiftly and react quickly. Our seasoned producers and creative teams working in tandem simply makes the process … simpler.
Together, we offer our clients an insightful and focused partner who is eager to exceed the expectations of projects of all shapes and sizes. With our team’s vast experience from all aspects of the advertising pipeline, we are an ally who understands the ever evolving content demands of today and a friend who is in it for the long run. Story
Although the first flag of Republic was raised in 2013 (then under the name Republic Editorial), our origins trace back years before that. In 2004, our founders Chris Gipson, Carrie Callaway and Keith James were brought together by the then leading national editorial shop, Red Car, to help expand their Dallas outpost. The three future partners instantly clicked, working together to expand their office’s capabilities, clientele and footprint before eventually taking ownership of it.
Callaway, a native of Louisiana, was an industry veteran who had been Red Car’s Managing Director since its inception in 1999. Gipson had roots on the West Coast, starting out at Red Car Hollywood in 1994 as an assistant before becoming an editor and eventually moving to Dallas. James, who actually grew up in Tokyo, followed a growth path similar to Gipson’s, becoming an editor at Dallas’s charlieuniformtango shortly before joining Callaway and Gipson.
As owners, the three have built on their vision of developing talent, creativity and relationships to become industry thought leaders in the Southwest. Three years after establishing traditional post-house Republic Editorial, they founded Infinite Fiction – a design, animation, motion graphics and VFX studio. In early 2019, they added a full-service client-focused production arm – Threaded Pictures. Together, the three studios provided a turn-key creative solution from start to finish for their clients. The three divisions were unified under one brand in early 2022 as Republic.
